Fresh news on politics and government in Russia
Provided by AGPSpeaking during a meeting with President Vladimir Putin, Moskalkova said cooperation with Russian security structures has helped establish what she described as “difficult but effective” communication channels with the Ukrainian side.
She noted coordination with the Ministry of Defense, the Federal Security Service (FSB), and other intelligence agencies, which she said has enabled reciprocal arrangements concerning visits to prisoners of war aimed at reducing abuse, humiliation, and unlawful treatment.
Moskalkova added that her office is involved in prisoner exchange processes coordinated with Russia’s Defense Ministry and other state services.
“The most important thing is to bring people back. And we are succeeding in this,” she said.
She also referenced a recent Easter-related exchange, saying Russian servicemen were provided with traditional holiday items such as Easter cakes and holy water, along with opportunities to speak with priests, and added that similar arrangements were made for detainees on the opposing side.
